6 Hacks to avoid foundation oxidation
The disappointment of a foundation that changes color, or oxidizes, and leaves us looking dull can be frustrating. So let's explore six straightforward hacks to prevent foundation oxidation and maintain a fresh, vibrant look throughout the day.
1- Keeping a gap between skincare and makeup :
Keeping a gap between skincare and makeup application can also help to reduce foundation oxidizing. Applying makeup immediately after skincare can cause the products to mix together, leading to changes in the texture or color of your foundation. Waiting a few minutes between skincare and makeup application allows your skincare products to fully absorb into your skin before applying foundation, which can help to prevent oxidation.

2- Apply foundation with a brush :
Applying foundation with a brush can help to minimize the amount of oil and bacteria that are transferred to the skin, reducing the likelihood of oxidation. Use a clean, synthetic foundation brush to apply and blend your foundation.

3- Apply foundation in thin layers :
Applying foundation in thin layers can help to prevent oxidation. Thick layers of foundation are more likely to react with the oils in the skin, leading to oxidation. Apply a thin layer of foundation, and then build up coverage in areas that need it.

4- Use a silicone-based primer :
A silicone-based primer can help prevent foundation from oxidizing by creating a barrier between the skin and the foundation. Silicone-based primers also help to control oil production, reducing the likelihood of oxidation.

5- Avoid touching your face :
Touching your face throughout the day can transfer oil and bacteria from your hands onto your skin, which can cause your foundation to oxidize. Try to avoid touching your face as much as possible, and if you do need to touch your face, wash your hands first.
